We are very pleased to announce that BAS has been officially accredited as a Reference Material Producer in accordance with ISO Guide 34:2000 (General requirements for the competence of Reference Material Producers).

BAS is one of a group of only five UK Reference Materials Producers to be accredited in the first batch by UKAS.

BAS catalogue no. 762 now includes the new Standard Glass Sand, BCS-CRM 516, produced in association with The Society of Glass Technology. Also included are our replacement Ductile (Nodular) Irons SCRM 667/12 and SCRM 669/12. ECRM 087-1, 0.15% Carbon Steel, which has previously only been available in the form of  finely divided material, is now available as discs and details can be found in the spectroscopic section of the catalogue, on page 17.

Also detailed are the materials introduced in last year's edition of the catalogue. These include our finely divided Chromium Metal CRM, BCS-CRM 361. Our Potash Feldspar, BCS-CRM 376/1, our High Carbon Ferro-Chromium, ECRM 585-2, and our replacement austenitic (Ni-Resist) Iron, NIRM 8/1. Our three latest copper base RMs, CURM 30.04-4, 30.05-4 and 52.54-4 complete the list.

 Finally, in order to make it as easy as possible for our customers to keep their certificates up to date, the index of our BAS catalogue now highlights those materials which have been issued with a revised certificate since their original release.
